Pit 1: Insufficient front and rear straight pipe sections
Differential pressure flowmeter, vortex flowmeter and other instruments have requirements for flow field stability.
If the flow meter is located in front of an elbow, valve, reducer, or tee, and the fluid has not yet stabilized before entering the measurement section, the reading is prone to fluctuations.
FAQ:
Traffic display fluctuates between high and low;
Small traffic is unstable;
Not matching with the summary table and settlement table;
The error may reach 5% -15%.
Suggestion: It is generally recommended to reserve sufficient front and rear straight pipe sections, with common empirical values of 10D in the front and 5D in the back, where D is the diameter of the pipeline. The specific requirements should be confirmed in conjunction with the type of flow meter, the form of throttling component, and the manufacturer's instructions.
If the on-site space is indeed insufficient, it is possible to consider installing a rectifier, but it cannot be simply assumed that "adding a rectifier will definitely solve the problem". It still needs to be verified based on the on-site pipeline conditions.
