Installation Checklist to Avoid Pitfalls for Multi-Parameter Flow Transmitters(3)

2026-05-23

Pit 3: Fluid accumulation, gas accumulation or imbalance of liquid columns on both sides of the pressure pipe
When measuring steam differential pressure, if the pressure pipe is not handled properly, the data is easily distorted.
Many sites have problems not with the instruments, but with the pressure pipes:
The slope of the pressure pipe is incorrect;
Inconsistent height of condensate column;
Gas accumulation inside the pipe;
Incomplete discharge and coagulation;
Freeze in low temperature outdoor environment.
Result:
Differential pressure signal distortion, low or high flow readings, and even zero or full range in severe cases.
Suggestion:
The pressure pipe should maintain a reasonable slope according to the specifications, and if necessary, condensation tanks, drain valves, and heat tracing measures should be installed. Before operation, it is necessary to confirm that the pressure pipes on both sides are unobstructed, unobstructed, and free of abnormal gas accumulation, and that the condensate column is in the same state.
