Working Principle of Differential Pressure Transmitter

 

NY3051 series intelligent differential pressure/pressure transmitters have a sensing component with variable capacitance, called the "σ" chamber (see figure below). The process pressure is transmitted to the central diaphragm of the "σ" chamber through the isolation diaphragm on both sides of the "σ" chamber and the filling fluid. The central diaphragm is a tensioned elastic element, which produces a deformation displacement corresponding to the pressure difference between the two sides acting on it, and this displacement is transformed into a differential capacitance formed on the capacitive plate. Conversion of differential capacitance into standard output signal by electronic circuit.
